Spanish Language Day Assembly Summary
We celebrated Spanish Language Day which is a special occasion that highlights the rich culture and global importance of the Spanish language, one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.
As part of our celebrations, pupils have taken part in a variety of engaging activities that reflect the vibrant traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. These include:
Traditional Spanish dancing, where learners explored rhythmic movement and cultural expression through flamenco and Latin styles.
Food tasting, giving students a chance to try classic Spanish dishes such as churros, paella, and tortilla.
Research projects, where pupils discovered interesting facts about Spain and Latin American countries, famous landmarks, festivals, and influential Spanish-speaking figures.
Art activities, inspired by Spanish artists like Picasso and Gaudí, allowing students to express creativity while learning about cultural heritage.
These activities help to develop global citizenship and promote understanding of other cultures—key values within the Curriculum for Wales. Spanish Language Day is not just about language, but about celebrating diversity, curiosity, and respect for others around the world.
¡Gracias y bien hecho a todos!
