Summer Term

7th June 2024

Today's session was very productive. As a group we discussed the possibility of hosting a whole school assembly to raise the awareness of Llamau  (our chosen charity) and Mrs Harmsworth advised she will liaise with school management to see if this would be possible. If agreed, Mrs Harmsworth will contact Llamau to see if they could join us to offer information about the important work they do.

The Mini Vinnies also helped prepare our new hall display which is dedicated to The Sacred Heart.

Mrs Danilowicz prepared heart shapes and each member wrote a prayer. Mrs D then put these prayer hearts on the new display. You can see these in our "photographs" folder.

17th May 2024

Today the Mini Vinnies were busy making “prayer roses” to decorate our display in the hall which has been dedicated to Our Lady, Mary.
We also discussed our project with Llamau and some fundraising ideas. We hope Llamau will be able to come back in and chat with us.

3rd May 2024

Following on from our last meeting where we met with Llamau representatives, the Mini Vinnies discussed how they would like to support this charity. Initial ideas included having a day where the children dress in the colours of Llamau which are orange and blue. They suggested each child then bring in a monetary donation or a toiletry item. We discussed possibly highlighting this in a school assembly and possibly designing a poster.

Each Mini Vinnie then went on to write a prayer and decorate the flame as we prepare for Pentecost. These prayers are now on our Pentecost display in the hall.

19th April 2024

Today the Mini Vinnies met with representatives of Llamau. Llamau is a homelessness charity who support vulnerable young men and women and work with those most at risk. Emily and Hannah spoke to us about the work they do and explained the colours orange and blue are their colours. They explained that when fundraising £25 can, for example pay for a Christmas dinner for a young person whilst £100 can pay for 10 special Christmas stockings. As a group, we will discuss in our next meeting how we can help and invite our visitors back.
