Summer Term Learning Journey Photos

Under the Sea.

To introduce our new topic Under the Sea’ we had a wonderful Immersion day at Barry Island and were lucky enough to be joined by the older pupils of our school. The children were split into groups with the year 5/6 and 6 classes and took part in various beach activities which included, a scavenger hunt, rock pool exploring, sand art, fitness and yoga, litter picking and building sand castles. We ate our lunch with a beautiful view and finished our day with a well deserved ice cream.

As part of our Expressive Arts topic, Huw came to talk to us about Cynefin.  He showed the children a selection of Welsh instruments including a harp, whistle and pibgorn. He also showed the children the clogs he was wearing and taught them some simple dance steps for a traditional Welsh clog dance. The children had so much fun!
