Minutes of the meeting
17.9.26
This was our first Eco Club meeting of the new school year. We talked about all the fantastic things the Eco Club achieved last year, including planting, growing our own fruit and vegetables and litter-picking around the school and local community. We discussed how proud we are of what the children achieved and how we would like to celebrate this success with the rest of the school.
The children will work together to prepare a short assembly to share what the Eco Club achieved last year and to talk about how everyone in school can help us make positive changes this year.
We also briefly talked about creating our Eco Code for this year. The children were asked to think about what one thing they would change in our school to help the planet. We asked them:
“If you could change ONE thing in our school to help the planet, what would it be?”
We listened to the children's initial ideas and explained that we will explore these ideas in more detail at our next meeting. Their ideas will help us decide what we would like to focus on this year and help us create our new Eco Code.

This week, the Eco Club continued preparing for our Eco assembly. The children practised their individual speaking parts and worked on speaking clearly and confidently.
We rehearsed the different sections, including last year’s achievements and how everyone can help care for our environment by saving water, turning off lights, using bins and looking after plants and wildlife.
28.9.26
Our Eco Club recently presented a special assembly to the whole school to celebrate all the fantastic work they achieved last year. The children enjoyed sharing their ideas and were pleased to have the opportunity to tell the school about the Eco Club’s work.
2.10.26
Today the Eco Club talked about our Eco code and the different ways we can help care for our school and the environment. The children came up with the idea of making Eco Ninja costumes so they can go around the school and check that we are using less electricity, saving water, recycling and looking after nature.
The children also put up some new Eco posters around the school and watched a short video about Eco codes.
