Sunflower Day 2025

Sunflower Enrichment Day!

We arrived at school wearing bright coloured clothes and joined in with lots of fun activities based around sunflowers. We made healthy fruit yoghurt with sunflower seeds, planted sunflower seeds. We made sunflowers with clay and craft materials, joined in with flower yoga and created flowers in the block play.
It was such a good day!

The children enjoyed creating sunflowers using tissue paper for the head, sesame seeds for the seeds, a lolly pop stick for the stem and card to cut the leaves and string for the roots.  The children took inspiration from looking at real sunflowers and weeds and discussing the parts of the plants.

We made a healthy fruit yoghurt and added sunflower seeds.

We used clay tools to create our sunflowers, focusing on the different parts of the sunflower.

We planted our own sunflower seeds.
