Open Top Bus Tour

On Friday 13th October, we went on the open top bus tour around Cardiff. Our topic this term is all about Cardiff so this gave us the real life experience of what we have been learning about. First we saw the Betty Campbell statue. We have learnt that she became Wales' first black headteacher. Next we went into Cardiff Castle. Whilst we have been learning about Cardiff we have been reading a book called Tanwen's Travels. Tanwen travels all around Cardiff looking at the different landmarks. While we were in looking at Cardiff Castle we got to meet Tanwen. Then we got onto the bus. The first landmark we saw while on the bus was the Principality Stadium. This was Miss Townsend favourite landmark as it was a really interesting building. Next we saw the Pierhead building, Senedd and the Millennium Centre. While we were down the bay we got off the bus for some lunch. We also had pictures outside the landmarks and talked about how we could describe them using adjectives. Mrs Davies favourite landmark was the Millennium Centre as it was big, gold and shiny. After some lunch we jumped back onto the bus where we head back to the City Centre. Before we got off we saw the Museum and City Hall. Finally we got off the bus and walked back to school where we got to walk past the Principality Stadium where we got a closer look at the building. We also talked about what happens in the building! It was such an exciting day exploring our cynefin. We can now connect our learning with our trip on the open top bus and all the wonderful landmarks we saw!

What is this landmark called?
